Do not be controlled

You become very dangerous to some people when you learn to control your feelings.
There are many people in this world who depend on being able to control your mind and emotions. Once you learn to control your own mind, your emotions, and your feelings, you become very dangerous in their eyes because they can no longer control you.
Narcissistic people, internet trolls, haters, news media, and politicians all try to control others by controlling their mind and their feelings. They use fear, division, hatred, worry, etc. to maintain control over people. But when you take control of your own mind, and start thinking for yourself, instead of allowing others to control your thoughts, they start to panic. They know that they can no longer control or manipulate you.
Once they lose control of your thoughts and mind, they no longer have any control over your feelings or emotions. That means they lose their power over you. When you start to think for yourself, instead of just buying into the narrative, they are powerless when it comes to your life.
This makes you very dangerous to them because you might just expose them for who and what they are. This is their worst nightmare – an independent man who thinks for himself and makes his own decisions. What if you turn the tables on them? What if you expose their lies? What if their lies no longer have an effect on you? This terrifies these people!
Take control over your thoughts, mind, and emotions. Refuse to be manipulated by anyone. Don’t be afraid to refuse to go along with the narrative. It is okay not to buy into the false panic or the cleverly constructed lies. It is okay to ignore the pathetic little haters and internet trolls. Warrior up, think for yourself, become dangerous to those who want to control you! It is the way of the warrior.

Never Give up the Fight

Defeat is a state of mind; no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality. Bruce Lee

Never allow temporary defeats, thoughts of failure, or hardships to cause you to turn away from your purpose in life. Defeat and failure are nothing more than opinions. The truth is that you are never defeated until you give up and declare defeat. Failures are nothing more than the dues you have to pay to get where you want to be in life. They can only stop you when you decide to give them the power to do so. If you don’t quit, you can never be defeated!
How can you be defeated if the game is not over yet? Until you throw in the towel and declare defeat, the game is still being played. Consider a football game. It is played in four quarters. I have seen teams that have played awful during the first half of the game and were behind by more than five touchdowns by halftime, but that did not mean they were defeated because the game was not over. I have also seen a lot of those teams come back and win the game in the fourth quarter because they refused to give up and declare defeat.

This same principle applies to your goal of living a life of purpose and inner peace. You may have had some rough times, and you may have even felt defeated along the way, but the game is not over yet. As long as you are still working toward living your purpose in life, there is still time on the clock. The game is not over until you decide it is over, and you are not defeated, no matter what has happened in the past until you declare defeat. So don’t quit! Just keep playing the game and doing your best each and every day.

Warrior

Kouketsu Blog
Category: Uncategorised

Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other. Carlos Castaneda.

Carlos Castaneda stated, “To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives.” This is stated perfectly.
There is much more to being a warrior than simply wishing to be one or calling yourself a warrior. Nobody is born a warrior, or anything else for that matter. You have been given the free will to live your life as you see fit. In order to become a warrior, you must work at it. It is a matter of molding yourself into what you want to become, and it is an endless process that last your whole life.
You develop the warrior spirit deep inside of you. It is a deeply ingrained part of your soul that becomes so integrated in you, that it is something that continues to push you to maintain your skills and your mental awareness. You continue to strive to improve yourself and your preparedness. You continue to strive for excellence in everything that you do.
What you become in this life is totally up to you. You can become anything that you desire, but becoming a warrior is a struggle. The warrior lifestyle is not easy. It pushes your limits. It is a way of being and a way of living that requires work and dedication, unlike merely being an average person. The road is not easy, but the rewards are well worth it.

Control your Anger... !

Kouketsu Blog
Category: Uncategorised

Let cold deliberation take the place of sudden outburst... The first step in rising to anger is to note that you are angry, for that is to enter mastery of the situation...Fine proof of judgment to keep your head when the fools have lost theirs: every flair of temper is a step downwards from the rational. Baltasar Gracian
It is imperative that you maintain control over your anger. This doesn’t mean that you never get angry or that you never let your anger show. It simply means that you are the one who decides when to allow your anger to express itself and how it will express itself.
The first step in doing this is realizing that you are starting to get angry. If you wait until your anger is boiling over, it can very well be too late to maintain control. You have to control the flame before it becomes an inferno.
It is important to control your anger for several reasons, but it all comes back to achieving your objectives. It is hard to be successful in any game of strategy when you have lost the ability to think rationally, and as Gracian points out, every flair of temper is a step away from rational thought.
It is virtually impossible to allow your anger to be in control and at the same time think rationally. The two are like oil and water – they don’t mix. Losing control is contrary to achieving your objectives.
This is an important fact to keep in mind whenever you feel anger starting to influence your thinking. Is it more important to you to allow your anger to manifest itself simply to appease your craving for justice or to vent your feelings, or is it more important to you to successfully achieve your goals.
Always think of the consequences, both short-term and long-term. Winning at life is a game of strategy and your enemies will set many traps for you along the way. Think rationally and don’t fall for his enticements.

Pushing Yourself....Always!

Every struggle in your life has shaped you into the person you are today. Be thankful for the hard times, they can only make you stronger. Keanu Reeves

Nobody ever said life would be easy. Everyone has their struggles and their challenges in this life. You may never know what all someone has gone through, but be assured, everyone you meet has had their share of hardships and challenges. And it is those challenges which shape people and help them develop and become stronger.
Bodybuilders shape and build their muscle mass by challenging their muscles to become stronger and to overcome their past limits. They are constantly pushing their muscles to lift heavier weights or to endure for a few more reps. It is through overcoming these challenges and pushing their limits that bodybuilders are able to develop more muscle mass than other people.

The same principle applies to life. It is through the process of overcoming the challenges of the hard times that we make ourselves stronger. Be thankful for the hard times, for difficult people, and for your enemies, as they all make you a stronger, better person, if you continue to fight the good fight.
Hard times can never defeat the man or woman who refuses to give up. Defeat doesn’t exist unless you give up and actually declare defeat. Failure is a virtually meaningless word. You don’t fail; you act and your actions produce a consequence, either good or bad. You decide how you will respond to every situation in your life. You can choose to use any and every situation to your advantage if you have the courage to do so.
The bottom line is that you would not be the person you are today if you had not had to deal with all the hard times you have been through and overcome. If you changed anything in your past, you would not be the person you are today.

Training in a Traditional Dojo

There are great many things involved in promotion in rank aside from pure technical ability. When it comes time for promotions your Sensei will weigh a great many factors when he decides who will receive certificates, such as, character, attitude, intensity of study and many other things will play a part in his decision, even technical abilities as subject matter he will not expect as much strength from 100-pound student as from a 200 pounder nor will an older student be required to demonstrate as much flexibility as a younger person.

When you come right down to it there is only one factor that applies to all members of the Dojo equally and that is attendance. It does not matter whether you are older, young, smaller, large, male or female you are either present or you are not…

HARDSHIPS

Kouketsu Blog
Category: Uncategorised

Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny. C. S. Lewis

Nobody enjoys going through hard times. Hard times happen to everyone sooner or later. But, if you control your mind and focus on what you can get from the situation, instead of how bad you feel or how much you hate what is happening, you can turn a bad situation into something positive.

Many times, after you have made it through a hardship, you feel more capable, more confident, and a realization that you can handle whatever comes along. The situation has made you stronger and more prepared for the next hardship. Was if fun? Absolutely not! But, was it beneficial to you in some way? This is totally up to you. You have the choice to turn the situation into a learning experience or to just survive.
